Nicole Adoranti | Restorative Yoga
I originally came to yoga for personal development so I could learn more about myself on a deeper level. I am now a Certified Yoga Teacher with over 300 hours of teacher training and have had the joy of teaching previously at the Centre for Wellbeing and Yoga Therapy Toronto.
I have worked with people of all ages and abilities, including trainees at the National Ballet School, palliative care patients at Princess Margaret Hospital, and most recently with students with disabilities at the University of Toronto.
In restorative yoga, we work on ‘undoing’, slowing down, and calming the nervous system as an antidote to the fast-paced and frantic life that living in Toronto can sometimes lead to. By being supported in poses for longer periods of time we give the body, breath and mind the chance to relax and renew. Over and above the physical aspects of yoga, I combine my understanding of counselling, psychology and yoga philosophy so that we can learn how to integrate our experiences of everyday life into our practice.
